The culmination of many years of study has finally descended upon us! Yes, it’s graduate exhibition time where we celebrate the work of Emerging Queensland designers.

University Of Sunshine Coast

Paradigm: the shape of things to come

Paradigm: the shape of things to come presents the work of fifty-five students nearing the completion of their studies in design at USC. The exhibition encompasses graphic design, electronic media and 3D-design and gives students a platform to present their professional portfolios and projects to industry and the community.

TAFE exhibitions

CRE8 2017

When: Thursday, 16 November 2017, 6.00pm – 8.30pm

Where: TAFE Queensland Southbank Campus, 66 Ernest Street, South Brisbane

This is a free showcase of the best student works from the year, across all areas of the creative arts, including fashion, floristry, photography, digital design and much, much more.

 

Meraki – End of Year Fashion Parade

When: Wednesday 22 November 2017, 5.30pm – 8.30pm

Where: TAFE Queensland Mt Gravatt Campus. Cost: $15.00 per person.

Meraki will showcase works born from soul, creativity and love as pieced together by fashion students. Guests can marvel at a variety of ranges, including: swimwear and resort.

QUT Graduate exhibitions

QUT Interior Design Graduate Exhibition

When: Monday, 20 November 2017 to Friday, 24 November 2017, 10am-4pm.

Where: F Block Level 2, QUT gardens Point Campus

The final year interior design studio units encompass a self-directed journey of “design through creative exploration”.

In addition to a structured project incorporating the pragmatic aspects of professional practice, students are required to articulate their own area of design interest, defining the focus of the year’s work through ideation, research, analysis, experimentation, project development and refinement, communication, and presentation.

The aggregation of activities and outcomes of the interior design honours program final year cohort constitutes each individual’s body of work representing the culmination of their undergraduate interior design studies.

 

QUT Fashion – STUDIO6

When: Wednesday, 22 November 2017, 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm

In a one evening only event, QUT fashion design students will present their graduate collection as part of the 2017 QUT Design Festival. The multi-level event will be held at the Kelvin Grove Campus with third-year fashion design students opening the event with an interactive catwalk at 6pm. This showcase will present designs available for purchase on the night as a ‘Shop the Runway’ experience.

 

QUT Interactive and Visual Design Disrupt

When: Wednesday, 22 November 2017 to Thursday, 23 November 2017

To mark the first year of the interdisciplinary graduate exhibition, the final year Interactive and Visual Design students have re-examined what it means to be an emerging designer within the Creative Industries.

Their exhibiting projects explore the concept of ‘Designing to Disrupt’ through various digital and print medias, interactive, and experience based pieces. The works showcase the talents and efforts of the 2017 graduating class and are the culmination of their final semester of study.

The Disrupt exhibition is open from 11am – 9:30pm on 22 November, and 10am – 6pm on 23 November.

 

QUT Industrial Design – 4th Floor

4th Floor is a showcase of the inspiring work created by the 2017 Industrial Design honours graduates at Queensland University of Technology.

Calling D-Block, at Gardens Point campus home for the last four years, this is a collation of the final student designs; based on four months of research, and four months of development. As they celebrate the completion of their studies, they invite you to peruse the student projects and check out what it is Industrial Designers do on the 4th Floor.

The 4th Floor exhibition is open from 11am – 9:30pm on 22 November, and 10am – 6pm on 23 November.

The postgraduate student work explores individually selected projects across several thematic contexts. These research-informed design projects explore questions of procurement, sustainability, society, city-making, and ethics. Thematic contexts include international projects and travelling studios. The Architectural Studies Exhibition is also open alongside the Master of Architecture Exhibition.

 

QUT Architectural Studies Exhibition

This exhibition presents the design work of graduates from the Bachelor of Design (Hon) Architectural Studies (Year 4) students.

The undergraduate student work explores the making of significant public place, through the design and documentation of a major civic centre. Projects fuse the challenges of space making with innovative construction. The Masters of Architecture Exhibition is open alongside the Architectural Studies Exhibition.

 

UQ Architecture

eMbARCH2017

eMbARCH2017 is the most important event in the UQ School of Architecture’s calendar, bringing together students, practitioners and academic staff. It provides an opportunity for the Brisbane architectural community to review the work of graduates in an atmosphere of celebration.

eMbARCH2017 will remain on display until the formal graduation and prize giving ceremony for Architecture students, on Friday 8 December.  This year the eMbARCH exhibition showcases the work of the Master of Architecture graduating class through individual design research exhibits from a new, specially devised program of research, focused on design presentation, and culminating in an exhibit of their design work. A selection of work from our seven Masters design studios, incorporating both first and second year Masters students, and a selection of exemplary work from across the Bachelor of Architectural Design degree will also be shown.

Shillington

Shillington Brisbane Graduate Exhibition
When: Friday, 15 December from 6:00-8:00pm
Where:  Studio on L7, 157 Ann St, Brisbane QLD

Grab a drink and see the incredibly diverse range of work produced by the students. The majority had never touched the design programs before starting at Shillington, and yet in three months full-time or nine months part-time they have the technical and conceptual skills to create a beautiful body of work.
