Design Minds exists to engage with the community and enable access to design thinking resources in education. It is a digital space for sharing resources, articles and toolkits by partnering with real world designers, businesses and the broader community. Design Thinking is a process that builds the capabilities of creative 21st century citizens.
Our Design Thinking methodology can be used within existing education and learning benchmarks and consists of the following phases:
INQUIRE: EXERCISES RELATED TO RESEARCH, IDENTIFYING / DEFINING A PROBLEM, DEVELOPING BACKGROUND UNDERSTANDING, AND SETTING OBJECTIVES.
IDEATE: EXERCISES RELATED TO BRAINSTORMING, GENERATING IDEAS AND SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEM, EXPERIMENTATION AND PLAY.
IMPLEMENT: EXERCISES RELATED TO TESTING DEVELOPED IDEAS, PROTOTYPING AND COMMUNICATING AN END RESULT.

Sketching allows product designers to generate ideas quickly, without committing resources to any single idea. That’s why this course teaches sketching rather than drawing—focusing on speed, creativity, and iteration rather than on one precise depiction of a single concept.
