Game Changers: in conversation with Lydia Pearson
August 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The second conversation in the Game Changers for 2018 series showcases successful fashion designer and business owner Lydia Pearson, founding partner of one of Australia’s most established labels — Easton Pearson.
Easton Pearson developed a reputation for light-hearted, unconventionally decorative, trendless clothing and built a devoted clientele in many countries around the globe. The successful Brisbane-based label has sold to many of the world’s most recognized stores, including Browns of London, Bergdorf Goodman in New York, and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong. In 2009 Easton Pearson exhibited at GoMA, Brisbane; this was one of the first Australian fashion shows in an art gallery and attracted over 80,000 visitors.
After 30 years running a full tilt, all consuming and life affirming fashion business, Lydia has come full circle and is proudly returning to sharing her skills through teaching in the Creatives Industries Precinct at Queensland University of Technology. With a passionate interest in fabric, decorative techniques, artisanal making, and independent design, Lydia is fully immersed in the futures of our brightest and most promising design students, guiding them in their studio practice and collection development.
After the event, network with Lydia on the stunning Queensland Terrace.
Can’t make it in person? The talk will be live streamed.
