Architecture enthusiasts joined us for the second lecture in the 2014 UQ Architecture lecture series, presented by the University of Queensland School of Architecture and the Asia Pacific Design Library.

Penny Collins and Huw Turner established Collins and Turner Architects in Sydney in 2002. The focus of the practice is the design and delivery of innovative environments for work, living, and play.

Collins and Turner Architects have completed projects in Australia, the UK and USA. Their projects have won numerous awards including the Aaron Bolot Award for Multiple Housing, Sir John Sulman Medal for Outstanding Public Architecture, National Colorbond Steel Award along with state and national awards for sustainability.
Current Projects include a new Restaurant Building at Barangaroo South, a residential tower in Waterloo (Sydney), and a series of bars and microbrewery projects across Australia for James Squire.
The work of the practice has been published widely in books and magazines, including the Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary World Architecture, a publication documenting 1000 significant buildings of the early 21st century, and included in architecture exhibitions in Berlin, Venice, and Istanbul. A monograph of their work will be published by Australian independent architecture publisher URO media in late 2014.
